Our Faith

The Metropolitan Old Catholic Church (TMOCC) is an inclusive, independent Catholic jurisdiction rooted in the historic Christian faith and the sacramental life of the Church. We seek to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through worship, pastoral care, social justice, and compassionate service to all people.

Our Faith

We believe in one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human, who lived among us, taught the way of love, died for our salvation, and rose again in glory.

We believe that the Holy Spirit continues to guide, inspire, and strengthen the Church and all people of faith.

Scripture, Tradition, and Reason

We hold Holy Scripture to be inspired and authoritative, interpreted within the living tradition of the Church and informed by prayerful reflection, scholarship, and reason.

We affirm that faith and intellect are not opposed but work together in the pursuit of truth.

The Sacramental Life

We cherish the sacraments as visible signs of God's grace. Through Baptism, Eucharist, and the other sacramental rites of the Church, we encounter the presence of Christ and are strengthened for Christian living.

The Eucharist is at the heart of our worship, where we gather as God's people to remember Christ's saving work and share in the sacred mystery of His presence.

An Inclusive Church

We believe that every person is created in the image and likeness of God and is worthy of dignity, respect, and love.

We welcome people of all backgrounds, ethnicities, cultures, genders, sexual orientations, marital statuses, abilities, and life experiences into the full life of the Church.

We affirm the ministry and vocation of all people and recognise that God calls individuals to serve in many different ways.

Ministry and Service

We believe that all Christians are called to ministry through their baptism. Some are called to ordained ministry, while others serve through lay ministries and acts of compassion, leadership, teaching, and advocacy.

We seek to equip and support all who discern a call to serve God's people.

Justice, Compassion, and Peace

We believe that the Gospel calls us to work for justice, peace, reconciliation, and the care of creation.

We oppose discrimination, prejudice, hatred, and injustice in all their forms and seek to embody Christ's love through practical action and advocacy.

Ecumenical Spirit

As an Old Catholic Church, we honour the historic Catholic faith while embracing dialogue, cooperation, and friendship with Christians of other traditions and with people of goodwill throughout society.

We recognise that God's grace is not confined to any one denomination and seek unity where possible while respecting diversity of belief and practice.

Our Mission

Our mission is to proclaim the love of God, celebrate the sacraments, nurture discipleship, support those in need, and build communities where all people may encounter Christ's welcome, healing, and hope.

We strive to be a Church that is faithful to tradition, open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and committed to serving the world with humility, integrity, and love.
